Reading and District
This Club is one of the oldest in England, being the fourth Club to have been founded, the first president having been elected in 1969, and celebrating its 50th Birthday in 2018.
The Reading and District Club meets at the Club at Mapledurham located first right past the speed delimit sign on the Caversham to Oxford A4074 road.
Meetings are held once a month, on the second Tuesday at 12:00 pm for business at 12:30 pm followed by lunch at 12:45 pm. This is usually followed by a speaker except in the month of February when the Annual General Meeting is held. Talks are selected for their information, interest and / or educational content.
Occasionally the club organises outings to theatres, visits to places of interest, social walks, etc., the activities being selected and organised by the members.
Reading and District Club is run by an enthusiastic Committee whose aim is always to make membership of the Club a worthwhile activity for retired men to enjoy.
The Club is open to all men of retired or near-retired age. A warm welcome will be given.
Visitors from other Probus Clubs are always welcome. To ensure a meal you need to book in prior to 09:00 am on the Saturday previous to the meeting.
